On the 300K I had a very small leak at what I thought was the trim screw hole. I used some 3M glass setting compound, some of what little I have left in my last tube. The stuff
they no longer make. The leak went away I thought. Hose on it for 30 minutes and no leak. Driving in the rain slow around town no leak. I took the car on the freeway last week for an hour in the driving rain at 65-70 MPH and about 40 minutes into the drive it started to leak good. Crap! I am loath to pull the window out as no molded seals are available. I also will not use anything that is an adhesive as if the glass ever gets cracked and I have to replace it,
all the urethane stuff will stick to the seal, and it will come out in an not usable condition. So, does anyone have a creative idea(s) to seal it?
I was thinking of using some EDPM flashing. Cut a strip a little less wide than the stainless and run it over the seal and over the body “valley” and up the body wall to the roof
line edge. Use what little 3M compound I have left I can use over the clips and the screw holes and then tap the stainless back in over it. Thoughts?
