-- I've been chasing a 'performance' issue with my G for a while now, as the car has had some issues with certain rpm ranges that I hadn't been able to figure out with carburetion or timing/ignition until today.  I decided to change the cap and rotor, as I saw some blackening of the inside of the cap on the brass leads inside.  After installation, the car started right up, but I could hear a rhythmic clicking (almost grinding) sound from under the hood.  I put my hand on the new cap and I could feel the rotor hitting the side of the cap as it rotated.  Shut it down immediately, and examined the old cap more closely.  I tried to scrape some of the blackness off the brass contacts inside the cap, and unfortunately I found that three of the brass posts had been carved into by the rotor!  Talking with our own Mr. Verity, he advised me to find another IBS-4011 as something is bent or otherwise caput in my original distributor, and once I find one I can send my original and the one I find to him so he can transfer the good pieces left of my original over to the replacement unit and set it all up on his Sun distributor machine.  At least I've found the problem, but now to try and limit the downtime.  I had planned to go to a really good show tomorrow on a beautiful top down day in the G.  I can still go in the Hurst, but it won't be the same.  Guess that's why you need at least two old cars and not one, right?
Any help/leads/offers of cores appreciated.  Trying to avoid buying pig in a poke off of eSlay.
Thanks,
