If inclined , Tmesavers in Az has about 40 different quartz movements under 15$ . The smallest  one fits in our box. 

you cannot solder to stainless battery clips  , wind them with 2-3 turns 22 ga stranded wire , use remote  D cell ,in holder up under dash  . will

last 5 years , car electrics   do not matter 

you need insulating washers l and  some thinking on mount to keep hv lighting of face and you  will lose  it in hands ( ok w me ) You cannot cut or drill EL panel 

epoxy a small dowel to set wheel out the back , through metal 

 good  news it wont  need setting , have to rework holes in hands etc 

Kind of fussy but if so inclined   

Also did  one where I painted box  white inside put bulb in back , light can come around the  edge ; two white  led too , one time like that  ,,better color match when on , resistors . Trying tol brighten it 

I know , stick to engines etc

Anyway, I think if anyone wants to replace a failed old style clock, they might want to look to pulling the guts out of a later Chrysler clock.  The canister is the same so mounting shouldn’t be harder than some generic thing. For my 300C, I just pulled it apart and cleaned it and got it to work again. The ticking is nice, but if it didn’t work, I would have gone for a late 70s mechanism.

On that subject? Do they have conversions that work off their own battery? I disconnect the batteries on my cars while they're parked. Even at shows or cruise nights.
