RE: {Chrysler 300} clocks converted

Just a thought for someone wanting a better clock mechanism, I have owned a 71 and a 78 Valiant,  The 71 had the old school mechanism but Chrysler made a big deal about upgrading to a quartz mechanism that is in my 78.  My 78 has kept the correct time for over 46 years!  I never disconnect my battery even though I go for a month or more without starting it on the six year old battery.  Do you understand how little the battery drains from a clock???  Why even have a clock if you switch it off all the time???

Anyway, I think if anyone wants to replace a failed old style clock, they might want to look to pulling the guts out of a later Chrysler clock.  The canister is the same so mounting shouldn’t be harder than some generic thing. For my 300C, I just pulled it apart and cleaned it and got it to work again. The ticking is nice, but if it didn’t work, I would have gone for a late 70s mechanism.

On that subject? Do they have conversions that work off their own battery? I disconnect the batteries on my cars while they're parked. Even at shows or cruise nights.
