I went to install my new Speedometer Cable into the back of the Speedometer Head. The Inner Cable will slide into the Speedometer….. BUT…. It appears that the Inner Cable tip is TOO long in relation to where a crimped on ferrule lives. And because of that; the Inner Cable shroud is not allowed to meet the back side of the Speedometer thread area. And because of that; the Cable cannot be threaded onto the back of the Speedometer. (Hope that all makes sense) Seems I may need to have the Cable tip trimmed shorter? OR Maybe need to have the crimped ferrule moved forward to lessen the 1” tip length? If this is the case; anyone know how close to the tip the ferrule should be located? (Picture below) Thanks Matt Allyn
