Dear Club members -I hope everyone is having a pleasant summer and thinking about our upcoming Fall Meet in Omaha in mid-September! Time is passing quickly and what was once a series of far away events is approaching quickly - Sally and I are excited but need your help! Please note that the Hampton Inn & Suites Southwest La Vista hotel reservation deadline of August 12th is a mere 23 days away after which you won't be eligible for the discounted Club member rate.To make a reservation, please call (402) 895-2000 and let the assistant know you are a member of the Chrysler 300 Club interested in reserving a room at the discounted rate available from 11-15 September 2024. If you have difficulty obtaining the Club member rate, or with reservations in general, please contact us for assistance.I've attached a copy of the event agenda - Sally and I are very excited about the unique venues we have in store, many of which are not open to the general public.AGENDA:Day 1: The first day promises to be a real treat with a short drive to Ashland, NE to the Strategic Air Command and Space Museum in Ashland NE where you'll be greeted by an SR-71 "Black Bird" hanging from the ceiling. Believe it or not, I recently corresponded with someone on Facebook Marketplace selling a "NOS" fuel delivery system for the SR-71 (https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/7900559580026794/) - I was tempted but prudence intervened. We'll have lunch in a seating area beneath a Convair B-36 "Peacemaker" with the longest wingspan (230 ft.) of any combat aircraft ever built. Following the SAC museum, we'll travel back to Omaha for a private tour of Peter Fink's incredible car collection (https://www.wowt.com/2022/05/05/knicely-done-peters-prodigious-muscle-car-collection/).Day 2: The second day we'll head to Lincoln NE (about a 40 minute drive) to tour the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed, home to over 150,000 sq. ft. of display space spread over three levels (https://www.museumofamericanspeed.org/). After enjoying lunch in a petrol-themed cafeteria surrounded by all things automotive, we'll return to Omaha in time to prepare for the "Evening With The Stars" Fall Meet Car Show at Victory Lane (https://www.victorylaneomaha.com/about-us/). Owner Mike Welniak has graciously offered to host our show and Club members will have a chance to tour several unique car condos, mingle with owners, and share our prized "Beautiful Brutes" with participants from several Omaha Metro Region car clubs and the general public. The facility is spectacular at night with special lighting, signage, and an overall cool vibe; food trucks will be present, music and laughter will be flowing.Day 3: The third day offers a relaxing late-morning, 40 minute cruise to Honey Creek, IA and the home of Danny and Connie Peters, members of the Omaha Metro Region Walter P. Chrysler Club, for a lunch and tour of their beautiful automotive, automobilia, and breweriana collection all of which are unique and absolutely spectacular. Lush green lawns will provide an opportunity to showcase our cars, relax, and enjoy some good food and each others company. The Loess Hills location is geologically-unique and beautiful and the route takes us along a section of the historic Old Lincoln Highway offering lots of twisties, long sweepers, and interesting scenery. Later in the evening, we'll head to Cascio's Steakhouse (https://www.casciossteakhouse.com/) just down the road from the historical Old Market for our Fall Meet Social, Banquet and Awards Ceremony. Our private room boasts a cash bar with special decorations, linen-covered tables, formal table settings, and a menu that promises to please -- rumor has it a special dessert will be offered!Day 4: Club members bid adieu and prepare for the Spring 2025 Meet hosted by Mark Artall and Kelly LeBlanc in beautiful Louisiana! Finally, don't forget to register for the Fall 2024 Meet - the deadline is August 25th and the registration form is available on the Club website (https://chrysler300club.com/events.htm)!Please contact Sally and I if you have any questions or need anything - we look forward to seeing you soon!Kurt and Sally
