Richard,

I’m sharing your email with the list, ’62 was an interesting year in Letter Car history, and your car is a great example.  Sounds like a 1 of 1.

To set the Sport record straight,

AI am the proud 42 year owner of a 1962 Sport with every option offered in a letter series car ( Dual Quad, P/S, P/W, P/B, A/C, Dual Pnt dist, etc…

Plus one extremely rare option never offered on a 62H.  My car started as a 62H. The first owner, the one I bought it from in 1984, had six children.  So he paid an extra $$premium to have the buckets and console removed at he factory.  It was made with two red leather bench seats;  both with center pull-down armrests installed.

The $$premium option that he was charged extra $$$ for was a six way power front bench seat.  62 300-H’s never came with power front bench seats.   All factory production numbers show that a 62 Sport with this option is rare. Much rarer than a 1962 300H with console and fixed swivel buckets.

Think about it…a 300-H than can carry 6, or more, people yet compete with a “regular” 300-H in every way possible. This

Is it worth the same as a letter?  Controversy says it could be worth more. Definitely rarer.  Either way it’s cool.

Red leather, red wheels, red paint and can carry six adults.  Also a multiple “Best of show winner”

 Something to think about.

So…yesterday I went to the annual Mopar Alley show and swap at DeAnza College in Cupertino CA.  A short while back there was discussion about matched belt sets for AC cars.  A vendor there had several sets of matched OEM Mopar belts, picture attached.  I looked these up and they fit a variety of Chrysler products ’57 –’60.  The seller’s phone is 650-642-7103, name is Bill, from Redwood City CA.  Tell him Bob from the 300 Club referred you.

Also, a 300B CA black plate car for sale, runs and drives according to seller, he said he also has a second 300B for sale.  See pictures,.  Next to it was a ’62 300 Sport, and it looks like it has the 300H motor option, 150 mph speedo too.  See pictures for contact info.  Sorry, I was not able to get the VINs, couldn’t open doors due to trailer fenders. but I told the sellers I would post the pictures.
