RE: {Chrysler 300} Engine Stamps



The stamping may mean that this had a factory short block installed because the S is a different type of stamping

No, it is a 64. See photo. The “S” is a suffix after the HP.

It appears you have a 1962 block as S indicates 1962

I assume it says S41, correct?

The 300K block should be stamped  V41 HP

Anyone ever see a “S” stamped onto the edge of the engine ID pad?

 

Since I have the compressor off, I cleaned the boss good. The ID is correct for a single four 300K, but I have never seen, across the other four 300K’s I have owned the “S” on the block.
