Ray, the paint is mine. I ran some fingernail polish over and wiped it to highlight. It was factory blue before I started.
I found the same stamp on another 413 on the one of the MOPAR forums in internet land. Same font but in a different space. Same casting number.
So, who knows…

I don’t know the significance of the ’S’ James but it’s not the first one I’ve heard of having this marking so I would presume it was punched at a factory. Different font and angle….. The red (paint?) embedded in the letter ’S’ as well
as the ‘V’ and the ‘1’ has me wondering too? Looks like it’s been apart before, I presume you may know the history? Canadian assembled engines were all red in this era, not turquoise like the US ones.
Hopefully someone will have more info for you.
