I did just find the plate number 2400-340 as VP1, VD1 Police and Taxi (6 cylinder) and VP2,VD2 and VA3 (V8) in the MPB. But nothing for Chrysler or console VC2. James From: 'James Douglas' via Chrysler 300 Club International <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Anyone happen to have a trans apart or the pan off and can tell me the casting numbers on the valve body? I picked up a spare trans and I pulled the pan off and the valve body and the casting numbers (one on each side) do not correspond to anything I can find in the 1963-1964-1965 Master Parts Book. It may well be that the part number for the
assembly is not the same as either of the casting numbers. Because I have no idea what this came out of, other than an early 1965 car, just before the mid-year change in transmissions, I do not know if this is a console cable or a push button cable or what. The two casting numbers are: 2400340 2464549 Also, if you have one accessible, may I get a high definition photo of the plate side. This one appears to me modified and it also has some cracks. Someone was into it and probably tightened down too much on the screws when installing the
adaptor for the deep pan. I don’t know if it is worth saving this valve body or not. If it is a console shifter version then probably it is worth welding up and milling. Thanks to anyone who can help.
