Lots of good discourse here! For another info source, I just reached out to Thomas Oscarsson in Sweden, who sells a significant number of our big '50s and '60s U.S. cars across Scandinavia, Europe and here in the U.S., including to at least one of our 300 Club members. Thomas has a Facebook site for his dealership. Here's Thomas' commentary to me -Hey Noel. We have bought quite a few of these Kontio both for salubils [sp. 'saleables'] & even some private. We must say we are happy. Pretty affordable in Sweden. At the beginning, for 5-6 years, the white tyre side became a bit brown. Feeled like the black sweating through. Later we don't experience this. Most Expensive & Best We Experience Diamondback.Good to hear Dyke's feedback on the newer American Classics. And Diamondback has generally been unable to provide the larger 14" tires that our Fs require. Not sure if they have a correct size now. Before going to my American Classics I had spoken with Diamondback's salesperson James a handful of times over 3-4 years, and he always said our size 14"s weren't available. Last excuse was that a producer they had sourced in Thailand had to cease production due to political strife over there.NoelOn 03/25/2024 6:47 PM CDT ridgleyracing65 <ridgleyracing65@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:Larry:I have had the White Paws since last September. The ones I purchased from DB for my G last year are Nexens. They have two plants in Korea and (sadly) one in China. So depends on the brand used and the plant. The whitewalls have stayed perfectly white thus far (8 months), which gets to point #2.2) While I do not have personal experience with Kontio, my past and current internet research has shown many anecdotal examples of Kontio (and all other Chinese whitewalls) turning brown in short order. My experience with DBs are that they never turn brown. I previously had good results with USA made American Classic, up to 2022. The last set I bought , summer of 2022, started turning brown within 6 months, some of the tires worse than others. This could have been from mishandling in storage/shipping/installation (blackwall was resting against whitewall, which can permanently stain the ww) or from the black rubber from behind the ww leaching through the ww.Carl------ Original Message ------From "'John Lazenby' via Chrysler 300 Club International" <chrysler-300-cl...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To "Chrysler 300 Club International" <chrysler-300-cl...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>Date 3/25/2024 3:56:07 PMSubject {Chrysler 300} KONITO TIRESAll, I'm now getting ready to purchase another set of WW radials and would appreciate feedback. With that said I don't need any input on Coker or Diamond Back. I have several sets of the latter and love them.A friend that works at Performance Plus Tires in Long Beach California who are the West Coast Distributor for DB and these has brought the KONTIO brand to my attention and I've had one in front of me. They look good so if you have knowledge on this brand only please share. Both DB and KONTIO are based on Chinese Tires but the difference is the latter has the WW built in the tire at the time of production unlike DB which are added after the fact. Another plus is the cost is lower. Here is a link for your review: https://kontiotyres.com/whitepaw-classic/Thanks in advance for your input,John Lazenby
