Lead additives are a waste of money. People that use them don’t understand that, for lead to be effective, it needs to be blended in with the gas. It *is* a good idea, however, to use a high zinc oil, like Valvoline VR-1. If your engine is rebuilt or low mileage, use 10W-30. If it has high mileage, you may want to consider 20W-50. My question for the group is whether these cars of this vintage require lead additive? It seems to run OK on unleaded but I know that that can be deceptive thoughts?
