I came across the VIN for this car and now I
know this car used to belong to Bruce Toelle. He died in 2019. He had been the
president of the western 300 club for many years.
I have pictures from when Bruce had it and there were no
roof badges. I don't have any information where it went after 2019.
We noted that it was a rust free car in very good condition.
You can contact Rich Barber <c300@xxxxxxx> of the western club
to see if he has any more information on it.
I talk about the western club -- there are 2 clubs for Chrysler 300.
There is the Chrysler 300 Club International and the Chrysler 300 Club Incorporated.
I am a member of both. The International club is active, the Incorporated club is
now getting back on their feet. You should consider joining both of them.
Here is the membership page for the International: http://www.chrysler300club.com/homepage/memberinfo.html
and here is their most recent web newsletter: https://www.chrysler300club.com/newsletter/68/68.html
Rich Barber can give you the information for the other club.

I appreciate that Bob! It's just too coincidental that 3 cars are absolutely identical, and of course that small emblem would be impossible to custom make
just for the heck of it. When I get the car I'm hoping that the build sheet is still in the back seat. Something is unique about it for sure, and I am 99% feeling it wasn't done for fun, as the mathematical probability of three people doing it exactly the same way on a non vinyl roof car is nearly impossible.
How they got there is a good question.
Our records show no option package from Chrysler in
1965 that would have included those pillar badges.
I will pose your question to the membership
and let you know if the mystery is solved.

I forgot to say that I looked through the internet to see if any such small 300L emblem may exist and found nothing. Also, the other two cars I found that had this trim were also non vinyl roof cars.
I saw another two 300’s with exactly the same trim however. Plus, where or how would someone get these small metal 300 emblems? Look at that photo of that emblem and you can see it’s not some handmade piece and it’s certainly not one of the other emblems that are much larger.
Hi Jeff;
Thanks for writing.
My thought is a previous owner has applied some creative touches to this car.
They did not have an emblem in the C pillar although it looks nice.
The red trim was limited to only the upper pieces, but it does look nice
the way they added it to other areas.
Please let me know if you need anything else.

I received this message back from Jim. Very sorry that Don recently passed away. Jim said to contact you.
I just purchased a 65 300L and was trying to find out what the option package was for this model I have that has trim different than most all I see.
I have seen two others online with this trim, but find no information on what it is. The things I notice are the 300L emblem on the C pillar, plus the red having been added to much of the trim all around. Maybe you know or can help?
See the photos . Thanks so much for your help!

Unfortunately, our model year consultant Don Warnaar passed away a few weeks ago. I don't know if they club has named a replacement. I'd advise contacting
Bob Merritt. He's got a lot of L experience or can get an answer for you. Bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Is Don the right guy to contact about the 65's? I have a question.
