I bought a G while passing through Reno NV on business mid 70’s , white coupe in back of 3 rows , small “ joes used cars “ kind of place . Into F , not G , but looked under it , perfect grey primer no undercoat no rust . Almost cried as fixing a rusty F at home in Boston for months . Big sign in window “ 61” . thats all . 2995 I think . Sure enough , bad brakes , fixed by gas station mechanic , rebuild brakes , done perfectly a few 100 .
Most memorable of several incidents on way back to Boston , in middle of NV desert ( think Vanishing Point) on route 50 ( er, stay off highway = slightly flaky plates ) , jumped out to irrigate the flowers , my brother too , succeeded in locking us both out with keys inside , ( I think you move handle forward to lock ? forget how that happened even now ) ; had to smash vent window with rock to get in . Later the wipers failed on 50 in Utah snowstorm ( snow !!! in april , ( not in Boston!) sliding like crazy to edge of road trying to go uphill in a blizzard no wipers , worried about gas etc ) Got home .( Great to be 30 and carefree , no problems are too big , 3 beers fix it) Still have blown up picture of it in desert pre snow with a cardboard vent window .. happy days… John G Sent from my iPhone On Nov 22, 2023, at 12:07 PM, 'Chad Coulter' via Chrysler 300 Club International <chrysler-300-club-international@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Reedman's is still in Langhorne and still huge but now is called Reedman Toll, although I have not seen any letter cars on their lot when passing by...
Funny to picture our cars as late model used cars that the sales guys were working hard to move off of the lot!

Here's an ad from 2/9/61 for a 300G convertible at Reedman's in Langhorne, PA, which is only about 6 miles from Levittown. Reedman's was a huge 85 acre used car dealer.
They sold a lot of letter cars. This same listing ran for a long time with the price dropping as it went. At one point, they also had a 300F convertible for $1000 less.
Arlene was a perennial participant in many of these old shows and she definitely did have a quick wit
Keith Oh, the show was in New York at that time. I love Arlene Francis, been watching lots of old What's My Line on YouTube. Here is the other episode – Jan. 25, 1961. Skip to 29:00 in the program to see the car: The Price is Right (January 25, 1961 | #61_0016) - YouTube Obviously a black G. Carl <8D33700E7C184EE49DFF2913928512B5.jpg> The only known survivor (as of 2017) of the three red VINs that Bob listed is the first VIN = 124694, and that would be an earlier build. Gloria would have more current info. I thought I saw another FB posting of a different G, same TV series – maybe we can track that one down? Good stuff here. Carl B. Nick – The date is Aug 9, 1961. So I would bet that it’s one of the last ones produced. So my money is on 201871. Now we should bounce this over to Gloria, who can check the latest info in the 300G registry to determine if someone in the club has this car. What are the three dealers for the three cars that Bob gave the VINs for. That would be a cool nugget of history for the current owner if the car is still around. Hmmm…I think we may have our answer, courtesy Closed Captioning: Here’s the link to the entire show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEXmxOfWw1o Ron This Facebook posting and [attached] photo appeared yesterday - 1961 Chrysler 300G convertible...equipped with air conditioning and heater, tinted glass, radio, power antenna, 6-way power seat, limited slip differential, and remote control mirror Price $6,711.80 (won by the man on the left, who became champion) Does anyone recall seeing this tv episode? Wondering of this G’s vin, color and if it still exists? Looks like it's probably red (most likely) or cinnamon since it's too light to be black and too dark for white? With the color, convertible factor, AC and other options, the 300 club could likely figure out which serial number this is! If you think the color is cinnamon, there are 2 cars it could be - If you think the color is red, there are 3 cars - -- For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chrysler 300 Club International" group.
