I think I see where the confusion is. 

This email shows one car, a black and white picture of the Norseman. I don't own the book (although I might try to find one!) but I'll bet that is the car on page 302. 

The original email has two cars pictured, One is a color picture of the AI generated car and one black and white picture is the Norseman.

The AI generated picture has a couple of anomalies like the position of the steering wheel that wouldn't work in a real car, where the Norseman was a real car.
