This is also a type of shipping broker. Once you forward your info to them, they have a listing board from which any number of potential shippers can view. You state the price you want to pay. The individual shippers then submit bids to you.

I used this service once, shipping a non-running Chrysler from California to me in Florida. The shipper broke down and then got caught in a snowstorm. Then his dog ate his homework, etc. It was a month later than originally scheduled - luckily, I was not in a rush for it.

Trying to find a cut-rate shipper ends up with cut-rate unprofessional service. Your results may vary, as they say.
