I have noticed the Holley 1 bbl on slant six( great carb by the way ) has a hole like that above throttle in barrel . Thought a mistake or someone did it .

Maybe it adds air squirt during choke operation , or some part of warmup plan ?

I have never been able to find what the intent is, never noticed it on wcfb , but did on holley . And I think afb

vacuum accessories like PB attached to plenum ?

Check wcfb for worn shafts too , excess play you can wiggle shaft around in hole .

a little bit is ok , use vacuum gauge
