{Chrysler 300} Problem

Could someone in the group help me solve a problem.  My 300G came with the copper pipes that run under the rams for the heater.  When I position the pipes, the pipe on the driver’s side ends up facing straight up at the 12 o-clock position at the rear.  I believe that it should be  closer to the 2 or 3 o-clock position.  As it is the heater hose cannot bend to meet the heater control box fitting without the hose collapsing on itself.  This is the way the heater hose was before I took the engine apart.

I have studied Bob Merritt’s excellent photo essay on cleaning up his 300G display engine,  His copper pipes seem to fit correctly at the rear.  My pipes match his at the front.  I can’t see where I am going wrong.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
