Re: {Chrysler 300} Shutdown fuel perk

Hi James,

When you get the spacer be sure the 4 openings match the openings of the bottom of the carburetor. If the opening of 2 of the ports on the bottom of the carburetor are larger, you will have to have a machinist bore them spacer openings to match.

James;

Yes, phenolic carb spacers will definitely reduce carb body temps. Antique (pre-1940) cars have lots of problems with today's low boiling point fuels, and we have made these spacers for them and found reductions of about 25 ° in carb body temps.This is usually enough to reduce or stop the fuel percolation problems.

Hi All,

In San Francisco it has never been an issue with fuel perk on shutdown. Too cool 99% of the time. However, at our Winters house, in the Sacramento valley, when I park the car in the garage and close it up, I can smell the gas for a couple of hours.

Has anyone had any luck using a something like this:

Thanks, James

PS, I do plan on sleeving all the steel fuel lines from the frame rail up to the fuel pump and carb at some point. But that will do little for the perk.
