My 300B engine uses a "synchronized" carb set up, not "progressive". The manifold design is the old style "log", with only two small balance passages between the front and rear carburetors. It runs on both carburetors ALL the time. That is why the linkage is "synchronized" to open them both at the same time. It is not designed to feed the front four cylinders from the rear carb and vice versa. The engine will run and the car will drive using the front carb only, but the rear four cylinders will be starved for air and fuel. Starting with the 300C motors, Chrysler designed a "standard" 180 degree manifold using "progressive" linkage, so the entire engine can run off only the primary side of the rear carburetor, with the primary front barrels and then the rear barrels of both carbs coming in at full throttle.

Instead of doing improvisational surgery on the fuel line to the second carb, couldn't you have just plugged the outlet on the brass T-connector that goes to the second carb and just driven home on the front carb ?
