{Chrysler 300} 1962 Parking Brake Cable

Pulling the drivetrain out of our ’62 NY Wagon; now that the ’62 300 Sport is back on the road. (Sort of)
Ready to yank the engine & trans out together once we remove the Parking Brake Cable from the transmission at the drum.

I have read the service manual on how to remove.
- Dust Shield is off.
- External Cable Clamp has been fully loosened.
- But….Popping the Ball End of the Cable OUT from the Operating Lever is...well….not happening.

Who has helpful hints?
- It is STRONGLY advised to remove the Transmission Cross Member to better access the Ball End of the Cable inside the drum?
- Pop (or pry) it out with a flathead screwdriver?
Any other hints?
Any Do’s or Dont’s?

Thanks!
Matt Allyn
