I once had a 300B manifold that had holes in recesses just as you described. Never saw another. Possibly for heat dissipation from below? The holes were clean and looked factory.

I am working on a 300C and when I went to take the intake off I noticed that in each---all 4----recessed areas along side of manifold there is a drilled hole------no threads and hole goes all the way through----I have never seen this before------anyone know why this was done ?--------THANKS----------Johnnie
