Hello club, I am hoping someone has experience with the following. We put a redone starter in a 61, and there is no shim. I believe it should have one. It turns over, but sounds, well, not super smooth. Guessing the design calls for a shim, because I have seen them before, used between the starter and the flywheel housing. We could use as is but the concern would be not to cause undue wear or damage.
