In the meantime, a couple quick photos of us taken by Burt’s granddaughter, Michelle Smit - John Begian’s very freshly restored C, in Indian Turquoise, Michael Burke and me with our Fs. John encountered some rain heading home eastward and I drove thru some sleet and rain cruising back to Illinois - but all our 300s performed admirably. Rain-X is a must!

In a similar vein, I should mention that a few of us were able to attend the memorial service held in remembrance of Burton Bouwkamp this past Saturday morning. Three of our members even pulled their 300s back out of winter hibernation to drive them quite a distance to the service, and parked them in a prominent reserved spot near the entry. In attending we learned there was a lot to like about the personal side of Burt's life, as well as his accomplishments at Chrysler. He was quite a guy, and we were fortunate to make his acquaintance and spend some time with him in recent years. We will certainly miss him.

Perhaps a few photos of John, Mike, and Noel - along with their cars, of course - will show up on the website shortly.

John Begian brought his freshly restored 300C convertible, and Noel Hastalis and Michael Burke drove up in their 300Fs. The family and friends of Burt were absolutely grateful that this happened.
We wanted the people who came to pay their respects to see the product of Burt's handiwork, and that there are those of us who revere the legacy of these cars and who will be preserving them - and remembering the role Burt had in their development.
