Thanks for input Larry and John.

I looked over the explanation and description of the safety latch.

So why do I need a third latch if the first two are working properly?

On my 59 E I have the first latch which is released by the T handle

in down to left of steering wheel. Then I have to release another

latch under the hood to open hood. Is a third safety latch really

necessary? it seems like a neat piece of design work, but I question

why is it needed on the E? I am not sure how the C and D work

maybe they are different. Are both latches on the E likely to fail

at the same time?
