Jay Leno’s turbine car engine is in Detroit being rebuilt by 92 (Yes, Ninety-two) volunteers from a variety of engineering backgrounds and Chrysler experience some dating back to the turbine program. His crate engine was shipped along with the one which was in his car. When it will be back in placeI do not know. On March 29th, the car was parked with the hood ajar. Rob Kern
Hi Bob Haag and Noel, The American Car Museum in Tacoma has a Turbine Car on display, it is owned by Nancy LeMay. After Harold LeMay ‘s death in November 2000, Nancy bought the Turbine Car and left it on display at the American Car Museum in Tacoma. The original LeMay Car Museum is in South Tacoma and is open to the public, it still has a large collection of cars and motorcycles. Part of the LeMay Museum is still at their original home off Pacific Ave in South Tacoma It is open once a year in August to the Public and for special tours like Car Clubs. Nancy no longer lives in the home off Pacific Ave near Pacific Lutheran University. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Pasadena. Arlys and I including our son John and wife have a reservation at The Nethercutt Collection on Thursday, Oct 13 at 10:00 AM. It is about an hour drive north and if traffic it could take two hours.
