I went to visit Alex & the Paul 300D this morning.
Yes…It was a white D, when Paul bought it out of Torrance, CA decades
ago.
Alex said the drivetrain was rebuilt and it looks fairly pretty under the
hood.
It is an older restoration & is showing some wear.
It will need a new top.
I do not think the interior is a Goers set of seat covers; but looks
OK.
Alex said the wheel cylinders are leaking & the fuel tank will need
to be cleaned out.
I have some pictures, if anyone wants them.
Feel free to call me as well; happy to assist anyone interested in buying
it.
It is a 10 minute drive for me.
Alex said he wants $95k and is far from convinced the potential buyer
from Sweden will come through with a purchase.
It seems to be a fairly nice driver shape vehicle, in its current state
(sans the brakes & the fuel tank).
It is a 300D Convertible; which makes it insanely rare & really
cool!

We show Paul's 300D
as LC4 1048. It started life as a white convertible. A notation
some years ago indicated it may now be red. The car was advertised 2
years ago for $125,000.

Hello,
To promote our Club meets I call former members in
the vicinity of our meet and invite them to attend.
Tonight I learned recent member Paul Schinnerer
passed away about one year ago at age 97. His son-in-law Alex is at
their home taking care of his 91-year-old mother Mary. Alex is also
taking care of the sale of the 300D and thought it was going to be sold
some time ago to someone from Sweden, but with the time that has passed,
Alex knows the sale has fallen through. When I volunteered, Alex
said I should post a message on our list server about the 300D for sale
and provide his contact info.
I didn’t try to ask for any information about the
car, but Alex said to call him if you have interest at 562-421-4387, which
is Paul and Mary’s house in Long Beach, CA at 4353 Rutgers Ave.
