I thought that the nose piece would have been spotwelded underneath.
Just a guess. Then the gap on the outer surface was filled with lead.
My concern with the brazing is that the epoxy primer may not stick to it. But I
assume that your body person will cover the brazing with a layer of body filler.
So in the end, I would leave it 'as is' unless there is a serious problem with
the alignment of the piece, etc.
