That could be too small a wire to original battery from amp causing a drop under bass peaks , or also a main car battery on the way out . To handle peaks they usually add large capacitors. Like several Farads , just supplies peaks , no isolator or battery . But added battery is ok too . If needed due to too small wire gauge from main battery to amp . I mean main battery starts the car , 3-400 amperes . Like 5000 watts . Stereo is nothing compared to that but look at the size of wire to starter motor!
