This picture is of VIN 3N571003, Tan car owned by Ken Mack. All hooks the same. My recommendation is to buy the safety latch mechanism made available by John Grady with installation videos by Bob Merritt.  There are two angle positions of the hood pin which have to be identified  for proper installation and function.  Bob’s videos make it clear to understand how to install either angle.  $175 insurance for your hood.  I drive mine regularly and before installing this safety latch in 2017 I had trepidation at 70 mph watching the hood shake with the pin as the central pivot.  With the safety latch no movement whatsoever.  The hood latches and is held down tighter.  300’ly, Rob Kern
