On Behalf Of Henry A. Mitchell III [EXTERNAL EMAIL] Hi Rob: I built a 2 foot by 2 foot wooden bench the exact height of the door sill and position it right against the sill so I can lay out flat to access behind the dash of my 300C. hope this helps. Henry Mitchell From:

On Behalf Of Rob Lutts Hello Dave
Thanks for the description of how to solve that speedo
cable noise issue. How did you even get in there to
remove the cable?…did you remove the seat….its very tight fit. I can feel it – I am not sure I can get in there easily enough to unscrew it. I’m 6 1 inch tall so maybe that the issue. Appreciative of any experience you can provide. Rob Robert T. [EXTERNAL EMAIL] Hi Rob, New guy to the club here. Last year when I restored the dash in my '59 DeSoto, I addressed a noise from my speedometer that occurred when it was cold outside. With the cable unscrewed from the speedometer housing, I pulled the inner cable
from the sleeve and lubricated the entire cable except the last 6 inches or so at the top before the speedometer housing. I used a speedometer lubricant from my local Carquest/Advanced parts store. Ideally you want something with graphite in it. I also unscrewed
the wick at the speedometer cable head on the housing and re-oiled the wick. I did not have any noise all of last year after that. David Frank On Sun, Feb 27, 2022, 3:48 PM Gary <garythepartsdoc@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
