RE: {Chrysler 300} Chrysler 300C carbureter information

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Hearing the great lament over carb rebuilding let me make the following recommendation. In addition to a 300 F I own a 65 Corvette 396. That puts me squarely in the Corvette world, whose owners are in my experience the most knowledgeable automotive minds in the hobby. For years Corvette folks used Robert Kunz to re do the Corvette WCFB. Mr. Kunz developed a reputation as the single source for all things WCFB (or AFB or any other unit). Robert Kunz senior still does some work, but his son Robby Jr is doing the majority now.

Last summer I sent Robby Jr the matching original and hard to find original WCFB's from a friend's 300 B that were munged up from inactivity. They came back brand new, but better than that, they bolted on, started and ran with no adjustments. Minor adjustments came later, but the work was as good as I can imagine it. https://kunzauto.com/

Remember that experiences with operations such as Daytona, Quad Shop or any of the long list of carb rebuilders the hobby has is a snapshot in time. Good experiences in 2004 are no assurances of happiness in 2022. People come and go, parts quality changes, as my Dad was fond of saying "it's an imperfect world with imperfect people..."

Based on personal experiences I cannot give support to a suggestion of patronizing Daytona Carburetors for repair of the WCFB. They have done well with the cleaning and the cosmetics, but several samples I've worked with had missing parts (fast idle link, missing secondary throttle return spring anchor and spring, maladjusted float setting, float dragging against bowl wall, distorted automatic choke stove, and the list goes on.
I have a lot of Carter instructional and service literature for the WCFB and I'm sure it's available to Daytona also, so there's no excuse for such errors and omissions.
