I really do not want to complicate it with numbers, yes we have them clearly visible on the inside door post as well as radiator support. In addition to these, we also have a number stamped on the frame, you have to figure out for yourself where it is located. I offer a picture of my 57C convertible bone stock engine to match my frame. "data plate" (sic) on the radiator core support and the VIN tag in
the driver's side door jamb. I'm probably just a bit confused by
nomenclature, but what do you mean by "fender tag"? Is that the
same as the plate on the radiator core support? Is that more
correctly called a "trim code plate"? Why is it called a "fender
tag"? Are there any other places on the car that denote anything
specific to the vehicle as produced by the factory? And a somewhat related question: I understand that Gil Cunningham is in seriously ill health and is no longer able to personally provide his long-time extremely valuable service of "decoding" the front data plate (and even a copy of the IBM punch card describing the build). Has anyone in the Club stepped up to perhaps take over that function? I am fortunate to have completed the restoration of "Big Red" several years ago while Gary Goers and Gil Cunningham (to name a few) were active - it's so true that you often easily take for granted something until it's gone...🙁 Ray Melton Las Cruces, NM ********************************************************************** On 1/14/2022 12:06 PM, Bob Jasinski
