They most definitely are on J and Ram K. J used 1.74” exhaust valves in 4-bolt heads (standard Chrysler 413 heads had 1.60” exhaust valves). Changeover to 6 bolts heads began on February 1, 1963, but so few Js were built that the factory continued with 4 bolt heads on the J. Ram K might have used J heads in the early builds, but at least later builds were 6 bolt heads, and those might have had 1.60” exhaust valves (not sure). I’m not an expert on the K; so others can correct if necessary. Carl B. J consultant From: John Nowosacki Asking for a friend- Are the casting numbers on the 413 heads for a 300 different than a non-300 engine? I think they are for the J in 63, but not sure of earlier years. -- -- For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chrysler 300 Club International" group.
