i know , i set it on low flow still does  it . I did  not know about orientation of vent sheet metal , on C fill pipe. I had a 57 tank down last week saw the deflector type thing sticking out must be to help this . That one was up on top of fill tube — we only disturbed the tank end . probably right position , just does not work . Later in 60’s  they had an external vent pipe rejoins neck , right idea ? — but too small does not work either . We used permatex   gasoline resistant grey rtv on that fill pipe joint (!leaks when full ?) seems a good answer to rough aged metal and a hard embedded o ring
Used to worry about paint ,on splash back ,I am sure not good for it , but so far no damage .

All JEEP Grand C do  this too , I have 2002 daily driver ,300 k . 2nd one with 300k on 4.0 amc, great motor  19 mpg.   I love quadra track , no electric bs especially no dog clutch , no engage 4 wd lever — hydraulic clutch comes in smooth , designed like an auto trans clutch pack . Current mopar 4 wd system is pure junk . You get stuck . I bought new 2017 or 18 cherokee , got stuck twice—  incoming tide on beach .Was to be my replacement for 02. Talk about stress . Never stuck once with quadra track in 3O years . Summer place takes 7 mile drive over sand every weekend , I sold piece  of junk 2017 only 4 months old , and its “ 4 wd  temporarily not available “ computer error message to someone who thinks “ trail rated”  means anything . Marketing bs. car is a poser .

Put 4 k into 2002 , save 36 k (!) works so much better , even if sprays gas . Keep eye out for low mileage 2000-2003 4.0 . Great cars , todays slant six. Certain problems yes but worth fixing.
Damn government all worried about vapor recovery systems on cars and gas pumps , and allows this ? Millions of jeeps spray gas.
regulators about as sharp as a basketball ... an uninflated  one .As  Usual .

want to worry about vents?

How about gas tank vents ? CDE always blow back on gas , wherever is in there is a joke— poor design , I don’t think it ever works . Lots of mopar do that right up into 70’s

Keith…..

My 2015 Ram 3500 does the same darn thing.

Very annoying and I also have to try and listen for the level to start coming up so the diesel don’t puke allover my shoes.

Not easy at time with all the noise at a station, hard to get away from it.
