RE: {Chrysler 300} 300F A/C Charge

Albert-

I have 6 air conditioned antiques, three on R12 and 3 on 134. The cars on 134 perform admirably. 134 is not egregiously expensive, the work to install it straightforward, the stuff is available and most importantly works well. 

 

I would stick with R12 only when I knew I had a leak free system, and why 3 of mine still use it. But starting over with a new system or an unknown one I would stick with 134. 

 

I am interested to know more about Virgil. For example I would like to know how it is I didn't get a whack at her. I've been searching for a nice F for 20 years. I finally found mine which looks to be in similar condition to yours. This was Bob's car? Why was it hidden away so long? Love to know more. 

 

And you have likely found by now how exhilarating these are to drive, a 61 year old automobile that is all day comfortable, competent, fast, beautiful, what a car the F is.

Good Morning Everyone - thanks to all who chimed in to help with suggestions to charge the A/C in my 300F (Virgil).
Amazing though how different the recommendations were from finding old R-12, using R-414, and to change to R-132.
Taking Virgil to his first car show next Saturday; cannot wait. It is so cool when driving around how so many people have never seen a 300 and want to know more about them.
We are truly blessed to have such great cars.
