Diamondback has recently added an Auburn Classic in HR78-14 (27.5 in OD) that resembles the Michelin XWW of the late 70's / early 80s (also 27.5 in OD with Static Loaded Radius of 12 inches) - Not sure who is making these but they dont look like the other 14 inch Nexen tires.
For the record I have Diamondbacks on both Gs, and my Ghia Limousine. I have American Classics on my 55 Imperial & a 66 Tbird convertible.--
There really is no comparison, at least to me. The Diamondback white walls stay white, there is no “belt shifting” - I have that with Coker radials - the white walls require twice the attention of the Diamondbacks.
I would not consider any other radial tire.--

You are correct the Diamondback Auburn Premium HR78-14 would replace the 8.50-14. I have not seen in person, but pictures look a lot like the Michelin XWW of the 1979 time frame
Michelin 1979 Specs: HR78-14 27.5 in OD, 12.0 in SLR
BFGoodrich 1960 Specs 9.00-14 28.8 in OD, 13.26 in SLR
(BFGoodrich 1960 Specs 8.50-14 28.3 in OD, 13.07 in SLR)
American Classic P235/75R14 27.87 in OD, No SLR data (best guess about 12.2 in)

Keith I think the replacement size is 235 R 14 and up until last week, Coker didn’t have any, but got a shipment last week so they say (for what that’s worth). I am using the Coker’s American made, American Classics 235's on my on my F which I bought in 2018 and they are performing well (about 3,000 mi) though the white wall does ‘yellow’ a bit and you have to keep them up. Almost all other mfr’s don’t have the wide whitewall look that we want for these cars; the 1" or 1 1/2” white side wall set away from the rim is not the look I want. Diamondback has introduced an HR 78 14 which I just bought at $259/ to replace 9.00 x 14 bias on my ’57 Imperial. The car sits about 1” lower and think they more closely replace 850 x 14 in the old parlance. They have two wide white widths to choose. But, with a new alignment and re-setting the torshion bars, I’m riding on glass! Bloody fantastic. M.

Folks
I know this question comes up pretty frequently but I’ve lost track of the answers.
What wide white radial do you recommend for the 9.00x14 for the F? I think it equates with a 225R14. I’m leery of Cokers for several reasons. The Toyo wide white radials work great on my ‘56 Golden Hawk but I’m not sure they are available anymore
Thanks in advance
Keith
