yes, —- contacted vendor , he observed that back in the day when people had 1000 mile oil changes , stripped oil pan plugs were common and several companies made plugs that are factually almost taps —that have the same threads per inch — so they self pilot , but are a non standard slight oversize . I wondered why my plug had sort of four segmented legs standing up , now realize it is to tap , and chips fall through 4 slots into central hole . Then you would clean it out. Has a nice beefy thick neoprene washer too . It is too small to be 7/8 , it is about .020 over 5/8 . Good to know !!!! Also along same line , one of my valve adjuster screws on hemi was ruined , long ago cross threaded — try to find 1/2 -32 anything (!!) — taps nuts or screws. I was flipping out, then found that hot heads has those screws . I bought 6! those are really easy to get started wrong , instant wreck ... unobtainium ... Sent from my iPhone not by choice
