RE: {Chrysler 300} trunk lid insulation

This subject was covered well recently and this may not be new.  The insulating pad was installed before the trunk inner liner was welded/seamed in place and before the trunk lid inner and outer were painted.  So, the area underneath is raw steel and subject to corrosion.  The rectangular pads were not precisely placed.  I’m not sure as to whether or not the pads had stickum on one side but partial detachment and subsequent damage is common.  On our Platinum-colored ’55 “white” 300, the paint of the day reacted with the tar-based pad to give a rather pinkish color to the pad.  Once the replacement pad is in, it should be painted body color.  I’d mask it off and not try to paint the entire inner lid.  Variance of the final color of the pad vs. the primed and painted inner lid is common and should be acceptable.  Maybe prime the pad and paint it before the pieces are glued in place.

Does anybody know of a source for the trunk lid liner sound pad?

The kind of embossed heavy tar paper under the ribs of the trunk lid.
