RE: {Chrysler 300} F deck lid disassembled

Bob -

When an email has a large attachment, say 6mb, like the most recent attachment that came thru the listserver, it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes or longer, depending on traffic,  to download that attachment to my local computer. So my outlook is frozen while that email is downloading. In addition, I can't access the other email that is being downloaded, until that file is downloaded.

Bottom line is, there is NO NEED to attach a file of that size.1-2mb should be the largest file attachment allowed. You can see tons of detail in an image of that size. Keep in mind, there may be some folks that are using slow internet connections. There are ways to reduce the size of images to a reasonable size, both on a laptop and on phones. Also, there is an administrative setting to set maximum size of attachments. Too big and it gets kicked back to the sender. That should be set by the listserv admin.

Ron,

How do the pictures “choke” Outlook?  I use Outlook, have for years, and have no problem with the larger pictures.  If you could elaborate further on the issue you’re having perhaps there is a solution we could come up with.  Personally I hate tiny pictures because they get very pixelated when blown up looking for detail.  I save many of the sent pictures on my hard drive for reference, so I appreciate being able to look at them closely.  Not trying to start an argument, just looking to come to some middle ground on the issue.  Unless someone is on dial-up access, which I doubt, large pictures should not be a problem.

PLEASE do not send large files to the listserver. They choke my email client (Outlook).

These pics are from a 300 F deck lid I had to skin to repair rust on the inside. The fabric on the inside is asphalt impregnated roofing felt that appears to be 60 lb. I am still trying to obtain it.

Thanks Al
