Re: [Chrysler300] 64 K headrest questions

Bingo!

I just cut the top open on the passenger seat, and the foam is indeed cutout for the plate to mount all the way down. No so on the drivers which I looked at first. Thanks for the pics.

Does anyone have a copy of the parts book page in question? I am looking for a plastic top plate cover, the one I received is cracked up quite a bit and would like to search one out.

I am retrofitting headrests to my K buckets. I have bought used setups and was just test fitting everything before I drop the seats off at the upholstery shop, hopefully next week.

First question is, does the shaft slide top plate sit on top of the leather and is then tightened down as far as it goes? There seems to be a limit as the horizontal bar inside the seat is presently placed high enough to cause the top plate to just be close to the top of the seat frame inside if you push down hard, but not flat up against it. So the screw holes don't line up that high either, but mounting on the seat frame would mean that the top plate will pull down and lie well below the surrounding leather/foam. Is that how they came?

Another question pertaining to this. I cannot find the headrest parts pages in the J Holst parts books online. The body chapter ends at 23-67-204. The headrest in a later picture of the bench seat shows it will be under 23-108-19. I looked at 63 as well, chapter 23 in the parts book stops short as as does 64.

Does anyone have a printed book that could send me that page? Curious to learn if the bench seat and bucket seat parts are the same.
