[Chrysler300] 300 K engine dipstick placement

I think I know the answer to this question already, but I have to ask.
When I removed the dipstick tube, I was cussing because it bent up upon removal before I removed the sunk engine mount.
This was because i
t ran through the engine mount! It was always hard to slide the dipstick in and out as well.
Now, with new motor mounts in, it appears that it is a straight shot down behind the mount. The clip would mount on the rear bolt on top of the heat shield it appears.
My 300 K has AC and power brakes so it is crowded on the left side. An AC muffler is right there.
Tell me it it really isn't supposed to go through the mount!
