Re: [Chrysler300] Brake and Fuel Lines

There is a small hand held tube bender with 4-5 diameter slots just for this purpose. Hand held and looks like a channel lock pliers contraption. Has worked well in the past. Flaring tool kits also work well after a little practice. Just take your time and plan ahead! John Holst

I've made my own with excellent results.

As long as you can use the old ones as templates, you're in good shape.

A note about all those tools (fancy pliers with changeable metal disks, etc) out there for bending fuel and brake lines: Throw them in the garbage. They are crap and will kink your lines.

What you need are a one inch wooden dowel, about 12" long. Also, a steel rod about 1/2" diameter. Also 12" long. Those will work better than anything out there. Put them in your vice and go slow. Map your lines to the old lines. Use masking tape to hold in place. Also, if you've never done a double flare, time to practice.

Is there anyone anybody recommends instead of In Line Tube where they had a good experience?

Agree- Inline tube fuel  lines for my F were not made well.  One of the bends was almost kinked.

cooling lines....they had sort of folded them (!!) to fit into a smaller
box, and when unfolded carefully , end bends were not right. Reworked to fit
, not a happy camper.

I would respectfully consider the new nickel/copper brake lines ----easy to
bend by hand exactly right and do not corrode. Better stuff. Allows dual
master plumbing too.

Ronald -

What you may consider doing is sending them the lines that don't match up
and have them make you custom lines. Are all five lines incorrect, or is it
just the front-to-back one, as I suspect ?

Hello, all:

I recently ordered brake and fuel lines for my E from Inline Tube. I checked
them with what was left of the original lines and they don't appear to
match.

Has anyone had installation problems with the brake line set (Inline #
CYB5802) and/or the fuel line (Inline # CYF5801) on their '59 C body?

Best,
Ron Kurtz
