RE: [Chrysler300] 19645 300 production question

Hi, Myron:

Here, again, I’m referencing the Nov. 2011 neWS-FLite (#129/marked #19) which contained the 1964 registry;

Registry contains 138 of 615 convertibles made-22.4%

6 are Sequoia Green (GG), so perhaps 27 were made.

Registry contains 417 of 3022 hardtops made-13.8%

20 are Sequoia Green, so perhaps 145 were made.

VIN’s of the convertibles in the roster are: 163207, 163318, 190679, 215833, 218892, 248894.  If none of these are yours, the data would change somewhat.  Certainly, more 300k’s have been added in eight years.

I just eyeballed these late in the evening so may have missed a few.

Wouldn’t it be great to have all 17,000 +/- letter cars in a searchable database to answer these very common questions?  A journey of a thousand miles begins with just a single step.  The INC club has just such a database created but it is only populated with the cars we know about.

That is recorded in your name in the April 2013 neWS-FLite registry.  Should be a beauty, especially if it has the dark green Solex Glass.  One-of-one.

I captured this breakdown from some forgotten source:

  • Platinum         1,177
  • Formal               289
  • Tango Red         247
  • Jade Green            1
  • Embassy Gray       1
  • Canyon Tan           1
  • Unknown/Special 9
  • Total               1,725

I look forward to confirmation or correction.

The last published “INT” registry showed (approximately) 57 Black, 44 Red in a total of 321, including those junked.  Several of the non-standard color cars were listed.  The list has grown since then..

Hi Club,

How many Tango Red 300’s were built in 1955?  Anyone know the overall breakdown of production by color?

Thanks.

John
