[Chrysler300] Chrome Plating

All:

A while ago, Keith Boonstra recommended a chrome plating shop; that he had used for parts of his 300C, Custom Plating Specialists Inc. in Brillion, Wisconsin.  The diecast pieces on the rear of my K were showing every bit of their 55 years of service, with the usual crazing and pitting.  Curiously, my K is originally a Wisconsin car.  I decided to go with Keith’s recommendation and sent my pieces to Custom Plating Specialists.  I am glad I did.  The parts came back beautifully chromed.  There was some loss of definition on the edges of the fluted pieces; but I expected that.  Thirty years ago, I had my K convertible restored at RM Restorations, a world renowned shop and they sent the identical pieces to the best plating shop in Canada.  I would say the parts that I just had done are comparable.  Even with the US money exchange rate and customs duties, I am still saving money.

I would like to thank Keith for his recommendation and I would like to thank the employees at Custom Plating Specialists, who did such a great job on my diecast pieces.
