Re: [Chrysler300] Re: G Gordon Davis

I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of that feature story.  Having worked for Chrysler Motors for four years at about the same age as Davis was when he was acquiring the Mopar-Spirit, the film could have gone on another hour.  Thanks for putting it on my monitor!!!

Hello Again -

Gordon Davis reached out to me again this morning, with a link to his recent YouTube interview presented by Mike McCandless, as interviewer.

Mike McCandless' comment on this interview -

I had the pleasure of interviewing Gordon Davis who worked in the advanced styling center of Mopar back in the late 1950's. The youngest designer ever hired in the Advanced Styling center, Gordon worked on many pieces that found their way into production.  During the interview we cover his history and showcase some of his original works which are now displayed in the McCandless Collection Museum in Burlington, NC.

I think you'll find Mike's interview of Gordon fascinating, though it's lengthy - just under 1.25 hours. Gordon discusses his career progression and displays some of his "What could have been" drawings of his vision of Chrysler Corp vehicles into the early- and mid- 1960s and beyond, including a couple specific Chrysler 300 references, during his tenure at Chrysler at the height of The Forward Look era. The video lasts just under 1.25 hours, and is terrific to sit back and enjoy after dinner one evening this week. Here's the link -

Hello Group,

We're all familiar with Virgil Exner's fabulous designs that directly translated into our iconic Forward Look Letter Cars of 1955 into the early '60s.

Through recent Facebook posts, I've connected with G Gordon Davis, who was hired by Virgil Exner onto his design team in 1953. Gordon has added a little insight to the inner workings of that team during those wonderful years. Here's a link to Gordon's website, showcasing his original 1956-1962 Forward Look art work - www.midcenturycarart.com.
