Re: [Chrysler300] carrier

To all with respect:
I know there are exceptions to every rule and notwithstanding the below post, I have had terrible results using brokers.  They bid out the job to rigs just driving around the freeways looking for cars.  The bids come on line, they bid on line right from the rig, they win the bid and they come get your car and pay the broker a finders fee.  You may be first on a load or last and they drive around ‘till the rig is full and then start dropping them off.  You ask for a delivery date and they continually push you back because of the haphazard way that they fill and empty their loads.  I have found shoddy gear, inexperienced drivers and swampers and your car gets moved forward and back, up and down depending on how they pick up cars and drop them off.  Generally what I thought I saved in the bid, I ended up paying on the other end either in a car with a nudge on it or waiting up to two weeks to get the damn thing.  I’d stick with the top flight guys, like Reliable.
And, if the car is worth more than a hen house, send it enclosed.  You pay up but you can sleep nights and stay calm
Just my opinion and my experience.
Mark.

His name is stephano. He has done over 40 moves for me and has been great.  He’s a broker that makes sure you get carriers with proper insurance.  Has been great for me. Tell him I sent you

Hi all,

I am looking for an enclosed carrier to move a 300C from Northwest to Boston area, in next month or so.. The guy I usually use, Brett Leonard, out of Martha’s Vineyard   is booked solid.

In the past I have used Horseless  Carriage, when it was involved with Imperial Casino in Las Vegas, ---I think??  –experience was very good, kind of high end deal, but that was long ago, maybe 15 years. Anyone with good or bad experience to share? Not necessarily looking for real low price, just a careful class act. The C is in great shape.

By the way, I got taken behind the barn last year on this, FYI.    If you put stuff inside the car (like parts) they can try to charge you as “added motor freight”, giving you a long story about exact weight of car is critical to DOT loadings etc etc. This they told me AFTER the car was on trailer. I think it is pure BS. Added 1000$, or off it comes.  Of course that $ solved “the weight problem” ---You get it.

Thank you , John Grady

PS, also looking for good 392 block , or core engine/short block , need not be from a 300. Thanks
