You can try and spray them with silicone spray. It’s a easy way to isolate problem. Ru glide may have been like Syl glide (one I knew) which was a silicone grease in a white tube like a large toothpaste tube , maybe in emulsion or water (?) , not much silicone but enough. Consistency of lubriplate and opaque white color. Sometimes looked like oil might be in it, at edges of it..a big no no (real silicone grease is clear almost, Dow Corning, green tube, gets everywhere, but protects rubber, extremely slippery ) I went through some of this with control arm bushings on 57 vintage; service manual cautions you NOT to lube in any way the bushings but almost impossible to get in without it ..so ? soap? Will wash out /go away later, without hurting rubber.. . The reason they say “no lube” is torsion / twisting of rubber when clamped is part of the damping of front end. Why the end of bushing steel has teeth on it, to stop any turning –it is not a bearing. . Sort of a rubber spring in rotation. So lubing destroys that. I also saw rear spring bushings put in with oil by someone, which causes them to turn to black goo.. So by definition anything petroleum based and rubber do not mix, unless Neoprene. I think , but do not know, that sway bar bushings may like to have those torsion loads too, which lubricants destroy. So nice and quiet but not much sway bar action. But if squeaking , they ARE sliding now , right? If you want to lube sway bar silicone grease is best. But do you?? , is a good question at least. Related , PST sells red urethane front end elastomer parts at a premium, they are great ---but they do squeak like crazy. They claim not bad now , with graphite or something in it now, (“Polygraphite”) but mine squeaked. Made that error once. They (PST) sold something to help that, I think, but not sure if OK on real rubber. Interested what you decide…mine have no lube,…. Might be the control arm bushings need help. Or ball joints too. Try to localize squeak on a lift first ? spraying anything would not get inside the bushing . First reaction.. Leaf springs can do that when interleaf sliding plate parts fall apart … JG From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Larry Jett LarryWJett@xxxxxxxxx [Chrysler300] Sent: Wednesday, October 24, 2018 5:10 PM To: Intnl Subject: [Chrysler300] Squeaking bushings 300K with very noisy and squeaking bushings over small bumps. What to use to quiet them down? Back in the day when I was a Shell dealer, we routinely squirted all rubber bushings such as sway bar, shock mounts, etc with a product called Ru-glide. It kept them quiet until the next lube job. Anybody have a current product for that problem?
