We put a challenger 83/4  axle complete into a matador , slightly wider or narrower Maybe  1/8” ( forget which ) fit fine . Matador is same as F . Also a cuda Dana 60 in an F , but that was from a race cuda , came set up for 1”
Inboard springs , we did that . All ok . 
You need to make about a-two to one increaser in ratio, pulls harder  and balancer for e  brake . Look at late 70’s dodge pickup . 
You might just buy new challenger from currie or strange ? Then all new stuff in it .
