RP-1603 is the center console hold back cable that fits the 60-62 300 cars. This is a project that was spurred on by Tony and Gloria both whom needed these cables for their cars. For those of you that don’t have a 60-62, without this cable the center arm rest turns into an automatic rear cigarette lighter push in tool. It leaves a funny circular mark on the rear surface of the armrest if you let it fly back. I have reproduced them after attempting to get several vendors interested in making them, but with no luck. This cable will be featured in our next upcoming Enews and also in Andy’s print edition. This way you can see the images of what they look like, but if you were at Micks fall meet you could have seen them first hand, as I had several made up for inspection. This is another reason you need to attend the club meets, you get to see the new parts and be the first on your block to get the new stuff! I currently only have one left that is going to be used for the picture shoot. I am currently waiting for more bushings and cable ends to be delivered, as the manufacturer was out of stock. These will come with new polished SST screws , bushings, chrome washer, and chrome acorn nut in case your hardware is missing, or incorrect. Funny when I started this project I did not have a need for one, and as it turned out thanks to Bob Merritt at the GLG, I do now. So I told my wife that I had to get an F so I could use the new cable that I just made, somehow she did not buy into that line of reasoning.
